The Christian Temple was founded by Rev. Loyd and Edna Hostetler which started their vision of a community based, Christ centered church in an old elementary school name Big Bend School. Rev. Lloyd pastored the Christian Temple Church for 16 years. It was there that a new facility was planned and our forefathers of Christian Temple began the building process by purchasing the ground across the street from their current location. The new building was dedicated in 1967 with a renewed vision for the future.

The vision of the house has been under Rev. Loyd Hostetler's son Pastor Larry Hostetler since 1979.

Now that Christian Temple is facing its 40th anniversary that vision thrives. We are growing in Spirit and in space, making avenues for upcoming generations of God's people to be a part of the history of Christian Temple.

God has called Tuscarawas County to be the Spiritual HUB of Ohio and He is raising 300 Leaders in our church to get this job accomplished.

The Christian Temple is an inter-denominational and incorporated community church, dedicated to disseminatethe Gospel of Christ throughout the world till Jesus comes in triumph.

We believe in the plenary inspiration of God’s Word, this being the only authentic and infallible Word of all ages.

We believe in the Triune God; Father, Son, Holy Spirit; who is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent.

We believe our redemption has been accomplished through the acceptance of the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and that our Lord Jesus is the First fruit of our resurrection.

We believe that the Son of God; Jesus, became incarnate, was begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary and is true God and true man.

We believe in the present day ministry of the Holy Spirit: His personality (John 16:7-15), and deity (Acts 5:3-4), and His work in each believer at the moment of regeneration (Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 12:13) and the subsequent Baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:4) giving an enduement of power for Christian life and service (Acts 1:8) with continual fillings (Ephesians 5:18).

We believe in a true repentance from sin to righteousness, the eradication of sin and self, and the temple being cleansed and indwelt by the Holy Spirit.

We Believe in water baptism only as a symbol of a regenerated heart and is subsequent to the New Birth.

We believe in the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ in glory, that at His appearing the dead shall rise first and with the living saints will be glorified together, being caught up to ever be with the Lord and shall dwell in peace with their God forever.

We believe in eternal punishment for all unbelievers and sinners who have not received Jesus Christ as the personal Savior and that their judgment is just and final.
